We need to give hard work to own one beautiful garden. To realize this, we need specific tools. For tools, there are the basics and truly specialized tools. Some only need the basics tools, while some need truly specialized ones. When working in the garden, I use a spade, rake, pruning shears, bypass pruners and a trowel to muddle. These tools really help me a lot, I use them to finish all my work in my landscape.
Among all of these tools, my favorite is hori hori knife. My favorite tool is hori hori, but it is not multi-functional. We all need a few good tools for our gardening job. And there are some necessary and easy use tools in our daily use list. If we prepare these tools in advance, then our gardening job can be finished fluently and perfectly. Hori hori knife
I mentioned hori hori before. Sometimes we also call hori hori “soil knife” or a “weeding knife”. It narrows to a point at the end with both wickedly sharp sides, and it is a heavy serrated steel blade. As its name implies, it is good for weeding with multi-purpose and also it is useful for other jobs. Usually, I use it to make rows to seed, dig out root-bound plants from pots, divide plants and so on. I think it is a must when I do gardening jobs, and I could not live without it.
Bypass pruners
If your jobs are too huge for hand pruners, then you may need bypass pruners. You can also call them loppers, and they are a must for branches over ¾ of an inch in diameter. In ratcheted forms they come, then again, give gardener more power by multiplying your hand strength.
Hand pruners
You need to buy what you can afford for hand pruners. Ergonometric designs also come in a boon to us with hand and wrist problems. I prefer ratchet pruners. They give me more power but with less strength on my end.
Hand trowel
Handy trowel is my first gardening tool I ever owned, it is not only a basic necessity to me, and it is the case for many gardeners. It is convenience for planting and digging smaller plants.
Hoe
You need a hoe when weed and cultivating in your garden.
Rake
Rakes have many sizes and weights. So choose which size and weight, you should understand what you want to use it for firstly. If you need a rake to rake up leaves, then you need a lighter and broad-headed one. You may need one sturdy iron rake to pulverize and level soil. So you see for the sturdy or broad shape of shake, you should combine with your purpose for using it.
Spading fork
Don’t be confused with spading fork with the pitchfork. Normally, Spading forks have flat tines and are used for heavy jobs. Heavy jobs like digging in heavy clay soil.
Pitchfork
Pitchforks are used to move straw or compost. They have slender, round tines.
Spade
It is also for digging. A spade’s blade is a straight angle but designed differently. You use your foot to push the spade into the soil, then you pull back on the handle and level the soil over.
Shovel
If you need to get into the dirt and dig deep, you need a good heavy duty shovel.
